Fluval Bio FX 5 Litre

BIO-FX from Fluval is a biological filter medium especially for use in canister and sump filters of all sizes. The coarse granulate is made of ceramic with a deep pore structure that has widely branched micro-tunnels. This creates an attractive habitat for billions of beneficial bacteria that effectively filter aquarium water - without chemicals!

Thanks to generous cavities, very good water flow is maintained; clogging is avoided and the contact time with the filter medium is longer. These advantages favour the undisturbed colonisation of bacteria, thus reducing ammonia and nitrite loads in the long term. The water quality improves considerably and ensures a better quality of life for all aquarium inhabitants, animal and plant.

Tip: For optimal filter performance, the manufacturer recommends flushing the granules with aquarium water or partially replacing them with new granules at six-month intervals. In addition, the manufacturer recommends using this granulate as a filter medium in the final stage of the entire filter process!
