JBL Manado Dark, 3 l

Create a striking base for your freshwater aquascape with Manado Dark by JBL. This dark substrate supports plant growth and provides a contrasting backdrop that brings out the colours of your fish.

Product highlights at a glance:

• Nutrient storage and iron supply: Absorbs excess nutrients from the aquarium water and provides iron that plants can take up through their roots.
• Surface for beneficial bacteria: The porous structure provides space for substrate bacteria to colonise, supporting biological filtration.
• Striking contrast: The dark colour highlights green and red foliage and helps fish colours stand out.
• Suitable for digging species: Can be used with aquarium inhabitants that forage and burrow in the substrate.

Directions for use:

Rinse the substrate thoroughly with warm tap water before use to remove dust caused by abrasion during transport. Add it directly to the aquarium, then arrange your aquatic plants as desired.

In detail:

The substrate plays an important role in a planted aquarium. Manado Dark by JBL absorbs excess nutrients from the water and releases them for uptake by plant roots when needed. This helps manage nutrient availability, supporting plant growth and limiting the nutrients available to algae.

The porous granules allow water to circulate through the substrate and provide a surface for bacteria that contribute to biological filtration. The dark finish also works well with rocks, wood and colourful fish, helping you create a balanced, eye-catching aquascape.
