Great design, poor quality
The design of this skimmer is great, I love placing it above my CO2 diffuser, as it keeps those bubbles in the water longer. HOWEVER! The plastic quality is dissapointing, the transparent top bit was stuck and I almost broke it trying to remove it (did not have to apply much force to make it audibly crackle, left behind scratches too as I had to rotate it to remove it). Also it is NOT small fish safe! Despite what the claims are in the manual. It killed 2 mature chilli rasboras in no time. It also produces quite a few air bubbles even after almost a month of operation. If the water level decreases too much, it produces a ton of air bubbles and makes a horrible noise that I never get with other skimmers, that scares fish (aaaand ofcourse makes them jump :/) so you gotta be on your toes with the water level, it doesn't have to decrease by much. I definitely expected more from an Oase branded product, but I will say the price is surprisingly not outrageous, design is super cool and cleaning is a breeze, plus the CO2 trick makes it worth a buy. Just one! :)))) Still looking for the perfect skimmer though 🤔
