Salvinia auriculata is a fast-growing and decorative floating plant that belongs to the floating fern family. It is suitable for open aquariums and breeding tanks. It is also a functional plant - it removes excess nutrients from the water (actively prevents algae formation) and provides hiding places for young fish in its root-like, finely divided underwater leaves.
